About the event

What feedback can hooves give us about the equine's body? How can we use this knowledge to guide the way we care for horses?

Barefoot expert and equine ethologist Nick Hill is running a one-day practical workshop for vets, trimmers, bodyworkers and owners to learn his 12-step process for mapping a horse's hooves to influence care choices.

Nick's schematic provides a framework to observe both the current health of a horse's feet, which has an impact on soundness, and the impact of the horse's physical and mental health, which has an impact on how the feet are worn. This information can the be used by vets, bodyworkers, trimmers and owners to influence care plans to improve equine welfare and performance.

Nick's protocol is extremely simple and efficient to use with a mobile phone, camera, or pen and paper. Using live models, Nick will show you how to assess the horses…
